We’re in the heat of summer now. There’s no mistaking that. Finding comfortable things to wear becomes a struggle. Every summer I find myself returning to the eyelet and gingham in my closet and adding unique pieces every year to my collection.
Back to back wear to where! If you happen to just be tuning in, wear to where is a convergence of sewing and shopping worlds, showcasing individuality in how each sewer or shopper would dress for an event. This is the late spring/early summer round, so of course, you can’t think of summer events and not think of summer weddings. For me, I can’t think of summer weddings and not immediately start sweating. It’s all about striking a balance so you’re comfortable for that indoor or outdoor summer wedding.
Wear to Where is back at it again for late spring and early summer with the converging of sewing and shopping worlds to show how both would take on dressing for an activity. I took two (again) with Glamping being my first one. Glamping is something I can totally get behind, but have never done. My usual type of camping is on the left and what I imagine glamping to be like on the right.
For Wildcat Creek camping, I’m usually in a tee, workout shorts, and waterproof sandals in the summer and tennis shoes when it’s cooler. When there’s no running water or electricity, it’s best to be ready for a rough and tumble type trip with breathable fabrics because you’re going to be outside 24/7. Glaming is a super fancy type of camping. So now that you know the difference, that should explain why I also choose to dress very differently. Glamping means you get to be clean and you’re not 100% outside either, so cuter clothes are permitted.
I’m warning you– I can’t get away from the baseball metaphors in this post. While my peanut allergies make it nearly impossible to attend a game, baseball is one of my favorites. I don’t claim to be knowledgeable about teams or sports, but there’s something super nostalgic about baseball for me, so opening day and week are always exciting. I’ve been posting reviews of my Stitch Fix experiences along and along. You can read about my first and second fixes here and then my third and fourth fixes here. After falling off the face of the earth for the last two months, there’s a lot that’s happened that I need to catch up on sharing. Bad blogger strike one. My seventh fix should be arriving this week and I haven’t shared the results of my fifth and sixth fixes. Before I share my thoughts on those though, I wanted to share an outfit that I actually wore a Stitch Fix keeper in!
